The Client
The Department of Premier and Cabinet NSW (NSW DPC) leads strategic government initiatives, focusing on delivering effective public services. Their work fosters community connection through forward-thinking digital solutions and public engagement programs. Australia Day Celebrations are part of the cabinet's remit.
The Challenge
For Australia Day 2021, NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) in partnership with Destination NSW, developed a campaign called 'Love an Aussie Road Trip'. Its goal was to inspire sydneysiders to travel across the State, and experience all that New South Wales has to offer. This would help to stimulate the economy in a post COVID era where at the time, international travel came to a stand still. Adam Spencer, Australia's much loved comedian and media personality, was signed on along with his family to take their first ever road trip across the State with his family, and a video crew in tow with the view to create a video series. They came back with a deep appreciation for the Aussie land, and some beautiful footage of regional NSW thanks to the camera crew.
The brief was to execute a content strategy celebrating Regional NSW, unearthing Australian Spirit, and inspiring local travel using the road-trip as a foundation.
How We Helped
OUR APPROACH
With dozens of hours of footage sent our way, we were tasked with creating a 10-part video series. Working closely with Adam Spencer, we built out the narrative and scripts and worked closely with the video team to edit the series.
To help amplify the video series, Chasing Albert developed blogs for the Australia Day website highlighting a range of different must see parts of NSW through many different angles. Email content was produced for the Australia day email campaigns and social media trailers and ads were developed to help drive more visibility of the video content.
