The Client
Noël Sydney, an innovative 16-day Christmas celebration produced by AGB Events and supported by Destination NSW and the NSW Government. This one time event was designed to transform Sydney’s CBD into a festive destination that will uplift Sydneysiders and get them into the city at night to help boost the local economy. It included a nightly concert featuring a range of icnonic Australian artists, artisnal market stalls and a spectacular digital Christmas forest. The crown jewel? A dazzling drone show featuring the jolly man himself.
The Challenge
It was an inaugral event, due to open December 16, that was approved to proceed only weeks before then. The event needed a website that would not only bring the brand to life, but compel visitors to attend and provide them with accurate details around travel and access. With that in place, digital marketing provided the fastest way to raise awareness of the event to a mass audience. Chasing Albert developed a digital strategy that would do exactly that and put the right team behind it to ensure quick, successful delivery.

The Impact
Attendee figures were staggering! In fact, people had to be turned away. Website speed averaged 1.09 seconds load time and serviced 248K visitors in just 30 days with social media acting as the biggest driver of website traffic. Owned social media engagement rate averaged at 2.8% with over 9 million impressions. 5,655 direct messages were received and 60.5% of them were actioned. Email open rates averaged at 54% with an 8% Click through rate average. In 16 days, Giphys had over 31K views.
