About Marie

Marie studied journalism and worked in media relations for two decades. She knows exactly what journalists and content creators are looking for, what trips spokespeople up, and what makes messages cut through. She hasn’t just media trained, she’s built media campaigns, messages, media trained then forensically dissected the results. She knows what’s going on well before anyone is standing in front of a camera. 

She believes that while understanding the media is valuable, what’s really important when you’re a brand is how to both meet the interviewer’s needs and yours at the same time. At the end of the day – the media’s job is not to promote you. They have their own agenda and know their audience more intimately than you ever will.  

Marie will help you balance their needs and yours so you can also build relationships along the way. No one is going to invite you back for an interview if all you did was self-promote! 

Education & Experience

Marie doesn’t just work in communication – she lives and breathes it. With a background in journalism, a Masters in Organisational Communication, and a diploma in digital marketing, she brings a razor-sharp mix of insight, speed, and creative punch to every brand she touches.  
 
She’s been behind the PR campaigns (and of course media coaching) for global brands like Mastercard, Ocean Spray, Nespresso and even the Paris Olympic bid campaign (which they lost, sadly). And she’s helped local brands scale like healthcare brand Purifas, emotional intelligence leaders Genos International, offshore outsourcing service provider Staff Domain and many more. She knows storytelling and branding and she knows how to get it cut through in interviews. 

 
Marie’s superpower? She can spot a communication problem from a mile away. Clients don’t come to her for sugar-coating. They come for clarity, standout ideas, coaching and advice that actually moves the dial. 

Marie After Hours

Off the clock, Marie moonlights as a stand-up comedian, which explains her ability to deliver training that is truly memorable and engaging. Sometimes she does really well, other times she bombs – but hitting the scariest stage in the world is her constant reminder of what it feels like to be in your position. She may have mastered comms, but she is still well and truly a comedy amateur and the nerves that grip you when you’re on a stage area always front of mind. 

 

Marie is also a mum to two young girls that won’t stop talking and are consistently finalists or winners in their annual school public speaking competitions. She did ask them for testimonials, but they demanded to be paid in extra screen time to which she said: hell no.
